Deformation

I saw these pity deformed seaturtle babies in Bilang-bilangan Island during my 10 days visit, learning about Green Sea Turtle (Chelonia mydas). One of the Turtle Foundation staff has invited me to follow him doing daily patrol to whole over sectors on that tiny remote island to rescue possible trapped sea turtle baby in their nests.

I was sad to see some of the sea turtle babies died during their effort to meet their freedom. Sometimes, the green sea turtle mothers don't nest in the best nesting area. I have seen them nesting on the sand area covered by roots or (worse) contain a lot of coral debris in it. I dug up a sea turtle nest when I was told it was empty (from sea turtle babies), but then I found three babies there not in a best shape. Suddenly I remember my camera and take their picture.

Take a look at these three videos:

I am happy to know there are good people in this island taking care those sea turtle babies and their nests. I am happy for this opportunity provided by Turtle Foundation so that I can experience to caress and feel the cuteness of green sea turtle babies. I am happy to learn their behaviour.
